Water Supply Planning
What factors are clients concerned about in water supply planning? Is it questions about the reliability of existing supplies in a drought like 2002? Is it concern about meeting the needs of the thousands of new homes being built in their service area? Is the water quality of the supply safe or is it under threat of contamination by upstream uses? Is it the cost of new supplies and the infrastructure to deliver treated water?
Our clients have all of these concerns and we use our experience evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of current and proposed supplies to answer their questions. We address the benefits of adding drought protection compared to the required cost. We develop evaluation tools tailored to each situation to allow a quicker comparison of alternate supplies. Using our in-house ground water, surface water, GIS, and permitting expertise we work together with our clients to develop water supply plans.
